AGV Move, suitable for roll handling
Essity develops, produces and sells hygiene and health products, including diapers. For the production process of this specific product, the multinational uses an AGV Move, which is suitable for roll handling. The AGV has a load capacity of 1.5 tons and picks large rolls of raw material for diapers from an unpacking machine, which removes the plastic wrapped around the rolls before the rolls go further into the production process.
Compact AGV with a lifting system and other unique features
As soon as the plastic has been removed the compact AGV drives under the roll in the machine, lifts the roll with the built-in lifting system and transports it to one of the production locations. Built-in sensors always check the position of the roll on the AGV. The centering system ensures that each roll lies stable on the automated guided vehicle. And thanks to safety checks when entering and exiting the machine, Essity knows for sure that the AGV is doing its job safely.
