The perfect special solution for Volvo CarsThe Volvo Cars factory in Ghent is divided into a welding plant, a spraying plant and a final assembly plant. The cars on the assembly lines stand on a raised platform. Volvo Cars was looking for a solution that enabled them to carry out the assembly process without forklifts and to offer the parts in an ergonomically sound way. That’s where WEWO Techmotion became involved.

A scissor lifting table in combination with a tiltable pallet dolly
Our solution involves a special scissor lifting table in combination with a tiltable pallet doll. Both the scissor table and the pallet doll can be fixed at different positions so that the products are always offered safely and in an ergonomically sound way. The pallet dolly is moved through the plant by an electric tractor and offered to the right employee, at the right location.
Thanks to this application, operations in the Volvo Cars factory in Ghent are now free from forklift trucks, ergonomically sound and flexible. The scissor lifting tables are movable, so they can also be used in other places in the assembly line.
